I just received my replacement water pump($21, OEM, brand new, ebay ftw! ) for my rb20, the engine is out of the car. I really do not know how to go about replacing it. I see that the front shield needs to come off as well as loosening the alternator so I can remove the belt. I am worried about the crank angle sensor, do I remove that or does it come off with the cover? If I remove the sensor, do I need to mark exactly how it is on there? If someone could clear this up for me as well as tell me about any unforeseen problems or issues I may encounter I would appreciate it greatly, thanks

EDIT: I just found this topic: zerothread?id=270043 which seems to give a lot of information on it, but still feel free to provide me with anything that may help

And no sense in starting a new thread for another question.. I just bought some NGK bcpr6es-11 spark plugs and I am not sure of the torque specs (25lb?) or gap settings(.08?), searched for that as well but had a hard time pin pointing this information, if someone could shed some light on this for me it would help me out a lot.

um if its anything like the rb25 you gotta take off all the belts, alternator bracket, CAS the crank pulley, both front covers (lower/top), tensioner+idler timing belt ( make sure you have it set at TDC before removing timing belt ) and that should be it ... that is if its the same as the rb25.. check the stickies the FSM should help you alot ...

everything needs to come out so you might as well do the timing belt while you're at it.

stock spark plug gap is 1.1mm. not sure about tq spec, but probably in the high teens ft-lb? .8mm if you're running a little more boost

At this point, I have removed the CAS and the upper timing belt cover. I removed the crank bolt and now I need the proper tool to pull the pulley. I borrowed a pulley puller from a friend but i need the bolts that will fit into the pulley. The timing is set at TDC right now, once I pull the lower timing belt cover how do I go about removing the timing belt? I have the service manual and while it does give instructions, it isnt the most detailed. Anything you guys could tell me that would make this easier for a novice mechanic would be great

The timing belt looks great, no cracks, no wear and no tear. The stamp on top said it was replaced at 97000km
