Here goes I removed my waterpump today in my endless search to figure out my overheating problems. Here is my new questions and problems.... I did not remove the crank pully to take off the bottom timing belt cover I followed the bending method on tt.net baciscally bending the bottom cover out to get the water pump out. I says just bend it back or cut around where the water pump goes should I cut or should I bend it back? This is the dumb question, should I have done this? Is it ok to leave the cover off? Please let me know thanks.

some people leave them off, up to you. if you live in a dusty area, id leave them on. dont want debris or twigs (or snakes) getting caught up.

It's a pain in the *** to get that off. I would cut it. But not leave it off completely

Thanks guys I am going to buy metal cutters tonight and make it look pretty. It is not dusty her and my Z is driveway whore anyway. The waterpump is good but the thermostat was bad it did not fully open until 205 degree right before boiling. I think the Z opt. temp is 170.

for the extra pita you are causing by bending and cutting and cussing if you just do ti right you will find a lot less cussing and bloody knuckles
