Hey guys, quick question, I'm in need of a new water pump, instead of going through all the trouble of getting FWD one and trying to get the pulley, fan, etc to work with it I would rather just buy a new oem one from nissan of japan. I have a freind that can pick one up for me and send it over here. The part numbers I get from the crossover thread are:

Water pump 21010-V5528 (CA18) until 8/90 Water pump 21010-V5529 (CA18) from 8/90

Are these the actual japanese part numbers? Also, how do I know if my engine was made before or after 8/90, I know the engine was from japan, not europe, and I have the id plate from the engine bay but it doesn't seem to give any indication of date of manufacture. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

21010-V5528 is the same as S12 CA18ET+CA20E water pump, so you don't have to get them from Japan, as long as you make sure its REALLY that part# OE OR the replacement aftermarket part is REALLY meant for the CA18ET/CA20E RWD (I'd be a bit worried if its the same as a pulsar aftermarket part#-wise, as most these days are too cheaply built to work for RWD w/ mech. fan).

The other part was also used for the S12 as a replacement part, as well as KN13 Pulsar CA16DE. same applies - if you can get THAT one, you're fine, if you can't then stay away.

So I won't have any problems with the pulley and mech. fan if I get a pump from a RWD 200sx?

Yes, as long as they don't shaft you and give you a FWD one instead. The alternate part #'s branch off between RWD and FWD but originally shared the same part #, alot of places cheap out and just make FWD **** so be sure what you get IS DEFINATELY RWD 200SX S12 and not something else.
