Hey guys, recently my car overheated pretty bad, and my first suspect was the water pump, a friend had one that was never used, so he said. I threw it on and imediatly it started to leak out of the holes on the water pump! has anyone ever had this problem. I took it out and got one from advanced auto, 2 weeks later the same thing happend again. what causes this!?

thanks, matt.

What holes the bolt holes or the small pin hole near the pulley???Are you using RTV gasket,On your bolts and all the way around the waterpump??

he means the weep hole.

try replacing it once again, a friend of mine got 1 from o'reilly auto parts & aparently the impeller wasn't hooked right to the shaft, so the car kept overheating, good thing we found out before it got messed up.

Just buy another one, and get some blue gasket maker. make sure that it is really really clean and dr( both parts engine and waterpump) Put on the blue stuff let it tak up, install with blue on bolts tq and be happy.
