Water Pump Dying?

During idle i hear this semi whinning noise (almost like a belt slipping). Right over the water pump. But when i get a friend to rev it, either i just cant hear it anymore or it goes away. I cant really pinpoint where the noise is comming from because i still have that huge fan and i dont feel like sticking my head in there while it's on lol. Any help would be much appreciated. BTW BRM exhausts rocks ***.

Could be your belts also. But to be safe, why not replace the belts and water pump?
