I am going to buy a sr20det redtop. well i am gathering prices and i looked on phase 2 motortrend for parts that i missed and well they wrote that u need to replace the water pump. well should i figure this into my budget? or should it be fine when i buy it. or will a water pump even come with the motor?

Waterpump comes on the motor. To me, its easy enough to replace when the motor is in the car, So why not find out if yours is still good first and posibly save yourself some money.

Its your money, some people leave them be and are fine. But same thing can be applied to anything. New thermostat? needed?? maybe. 7.99 gets you one and you don't have to worry.I picked up mine waterpump for 75 new, so I got it.I beleive phase2 sells themfor about 100, so think of it as insurance. You don;t really need it, untill something goes wrong.

...and to add... You know that things always break at the worst times. Plus now that your into a SR parts availability is an issue, your looking at 3-5 days to get your part. I'm not trying to talk you into buying it but even if you dont put it on it's a nice thing to have... just incase.
