Sup guys,

Basically, theres white smoke comming out around the turbo/elbow/dp area that i cant pinpoint exactly due to space restraints and... yup and the white smoke rising in my face. I think that there is water leaking from the turbo but i wanted to get more opinions. There is white smoke comming out from my ehaust as well.

Now, if it isnt then what else can it be? leaky hoses onto the turbo/dp area in which case would not explaint the smoke comming out of the exhaust.

If it is the turbo? than what can i do to fix this problem?(new turbo?) There isnt any signs in loss of water.

anything will be apreciated.. THNX:)

Get under the car and check the turbo for coolant. The coolant line is on the sides if I'm not mistaken. If they're leaking, give em a good tightening, 10mm at the fittings. If it's not from burning off from the heat from the turbo, it could be a blown head gasket. Check your oil for coffee colored badness.

10mm? I wish. The coolant fittings are a 19mm banjo flare. The upper oil fitting is a 10mm inverted flare that is a PITA to access even off the car.

I agree with 180fan that it could be a headgasket issue. White smoke huffing out of the exhaust is one indicator. Do what he said and check your oil. If coolant has been leaking into the pan, it will come out as a milky, light chocolate color.

hmm, I tried to check it this weekend and still couldnt really figure it out sinc i cant spend a lot of time on it cuz of work everyday and one tight budget. Checking the oil, i dont seem to have any thing resembling a chocolate color. Just dirty as usual cuz of a due oil change. I only drive the car for about 10 miles every 2 days a week to prevent any further problems.

What i do recognize is that there is a rough smell comming from my engine easy recognizable comming to a fast stop.

After i turn the engine is off, when i open the hood there is a clicking/dripping sound in the manifold cover which goes away when i tap on it. Around the manifold and around the turbo area, i see signs of liquid around the area.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

it sounds like you're dripping coolant out through the turbo fittings. Try and get a wrench up in there and see if you can tighten it a bit more.

Have you had the turbo off since you bought it? If so, you may have forgotten to put the copper washers back on.

Tenkawa you were right, the 10mm one I was thinking about was at the top. The rest of them aren't too bad to get to. but they're bigger than just 10's. I do remember though that i was able to get from the bottom with a box wrench

Finally got a chance to work on my car. I tighten the bolts from the lines that went to the block first and it seemed fine. Next, I could only get to the fitting on the turbo (the one where the thread is aimed at the block.mani)and tighten it more around 2mm.. (not so much). I did useless work liek removing the manifold cover juss to get a better view of the fittings. Hopefully the 2mm of turn made a difference... ou by the way, its weird but i have a silencer on my exhaust. when i remove it is when the white smoke comes out. i wont know if it helped until i get more time to remove the silencer. (can anyone explain this?)
