My husband and brother seemed to have fixed the leak in my '08 Pathy. They extended the evaporator drain tube (passenger side, down underneath the windshield wiper area) with a small piece of hose, checked the cowl drains but they were fine. So far, no more leak. My husband did finally call a friend who works at Nissan shop (after the fact, nice!) and did find out there is a Tech. Service Bulletin out on the evaporator drain tube issue.

That was our fix...maybe that's something to look into. Good luck. :)

Here is the TSB you mentioned: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=26YT1V4V

Hopefully it'll help other owners of R51s. I'm glad you were able to fix the problem.

I don't think there is a diagram. Make sure the black plastic strip that runs from left to right at the bottom of the windshield is sealed tightly. To be honest with you, "floorboard" is kinda general. Any specific area? I don't know if I'd be able to take the window technicians word. A windshield that leaks around the inner seals can't really be seen. I say crack the window, and get it replaced through your insurance- eliminate a variable.

I have water on both sides, passenger and drivers side. The water is on the floor boards and is under the carpets and pooling on the far sides of the vehicle closest to the doors. It is mostly on the drivers side and only recently has it been on the passengers side. I will check the AC drain tube, and the cowling area for leaks.
In the cowling area of the windshield there has to be drainage in the engine compartment somewhere. I know that I get leaves and things stuck in that area so i might have a backup.
Thanks for the diagram TC.

Huh? The TSB applies to R51, N50, and D40 model Nissan vehicles only, not your R50, so I doubt the diagram would be of much help. I looked through the body and trim section of the FSM and only found stuff related to the drain hoses for the sunroof. :frown:

I have found the next clue in my water leaking problem. When I got in the truck recently right after a bad rain storm the drivers side headliner above door was soaked. It was wet from the front of the drivers door to the pillar, so wet that i only noticed it because it was dripping. I have blown out the drains in the sunroof and poured water in the track and see the water draining but there must be a problem somewhere in the sunroof. Im going to remove the headliner and check it out. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Found the leak, the drain tub was slightly disconnected from the drain spout for the sunroof above the headliner. I zip tied it, no more leak.

Update on my own water leaks.
I started noticing a few years ago that the passenger side carpets were wet after a rain. Never really figured it out, but I did all the stuff mentioned in this thread.
This spring, I noticed my drivers side floor was really wet as well.
The kicker came when I saw a puddle of water on the centre console tray, next to the shifter, after a rain.
I had a fair bit of rust along the top of the windshield roof line, and it was getting worse every winter.
Decided to get the rust fixed while I was away on vacation.
Picked up my truck this morning, with a shiny newly repaired and repainted roof, as well as a new windshield. Looks really good.
Speaking with the manager at the shop, it turns out the rust was pretty bad across the top, so the bad metal was all replaced.
What they didn't expect to see was a big hole at the bottom of the windshield, under the cowling. Water was running under there and into the back of the dash and eventually to the floor. I'm hoping there's no electrical issues in the future as a result.
I'm also pretty sure the repairs will keep the cab dry again.
I'll monitor the situation and give you an update in the near future.
Even though I've mentioned before that I oil spray this truck every year, it still can't prevent this type of rusting. Kinda sucks. Oh well.
P.S. The estimate I got before the work was done was for the roof repair only.
They didn't charge me any extra for the additional work that had to be done.
Can't complain.

water leaks on passenger too, I had a new windshield installed and some body work done on front right fender. Also had a new A/C dryer installed under the dash, which they had to pull off. I'm finding missing screws everywhere. When it rains it pours into my floor mat, runs down the antenna wire under the dash. Also leaks when I wash it. Noticed the black weather strip on the bottom of the passenger side windshield, is very thin and lower than the right side. Im going to use clear silicon calk to seal the windshield. I also had a crack due to rust under window on the top drives side.
This never leaked until around the time of the body work and A/C work.
But I still don't know where its coming in. :wtf2:
