i went through a car wash last week and water went straigh into my trunk. was wonder if weathersrip is the cause and if so how much to get that fixed.

Latley my luck with my pathy has been bad. Nothing its fault but people have been braking stuff and now the weatherstip.

Make sure the glass hatch is closed completely - just opening it and shutting it should do. Inspect its weatherstripping while you have it open. Also check the trunk's weather stripping, see if everything looks alright.

It was closed tight i checked it and the weather strip looks fine. but you know the little part between the hood and the trunk? water gets in there and then goes over the weatherstrip and into the trunk.

Maybe the weather stripping is flattened too much or torn in some area allowing water entry?

New OEM weatherstripping for the back hatch is $115 before shipping. It'd be cheaper at a junkyard or if you could find someone parting out their R50.

So I looked at the weatherstrip and it looked fine but I'm wondering if there is anything that is supposed to cover that gap between the trunk and the roof area because that's where all the noise and water comes from.

If I remember correctly, the weatherstripping is supposed to flatten to prevent water entry. I'll take a look tomorrow or something to refresh my memory.
