girlfriend just informed me that cold water was dripping on her left foot when sitting passenger side. reached down there and found cold water or fluid on the carpet next to the center console side where your foot would be. figured it was just condensation from the ac, but this was a bit more excessive. it is starting to leak through to the drivers side carpet by your right foot but not as much. on happens when the a/c is on. also a/c loses power when accelerating on the highway. is this normal? anyone with ideas?

check to see if the drain line from evaporator box is leaking, condensation from evap. getting out, i could be wrong, but if its cold, then, its probably just condensation. as for the a/c losing power, is your car losing power, or is the compressor actually losing power? the compressor is belt driven, the pulley is on a clutch system. your clutch on the compressor might be slipping a little bit, or the electromagnet that pulls the clutch to engage the compressor might not be pulling properly. check the connections and voltage getting to the electromagnet.

these are all just ideas. im in a climate control class at school, so these are just a few guesses of mine.good luck

the leak is your evaporator box, either the drain turbe tha comes out the bottome of it and out your firewall came off or it's plugged up causing the water to back up and leak out at a higher point in the box, if the drain tube is in place pull it out and clean it out with a piece of wire, and yeah loss of power when the a/c is on is normal, it takes a lot of power to run the a/c compressor and you will feel the drag, perfectly normal

well i cleaned out the evaporator tube, but the leak is still persistant, i stuck my head under there and watched the bottom ac vent spit water out at me every 5 minutes, checked under the car and i know the hose is draining out, water must be accumulating in the evaporator box still. not sure how to fix that though. any suggestions? or should i just leave it be?

might be ust residual moisture in the ducting, if it can flow freely out the propepr drain tube there is no reason for it to leak elsewhere, just be sure you got ythe tube completely clean all the way intot he evaporator box
