Hi-

I found my right rear floor mat and carpet wet all the way through, almost like a window being open. Only catch, my windows were all closed.

Has anyone had any issues with water leaks from the sunroof or body plugs under the floor pans.

It's going back to the dealer on Monday , and I was just wondering if this was a common problem. Even my rear window gets condensation on the inside, probroly due to the water leak.

thank you for any feed back

the drain for your sunroof could be clogged, or i've seen problems with keyfobs causing windows to go down, in this case it mightve caused it to go back up too, but i don't knoweither way it is under warranty as long as you don't have too many milesmake sure to explain it to the dealer precisely so they have a good starting point

Hi there and Welcome to Nico.

I have to say water leaks are very uncommon and the 08 M. Any of the small complaint worthy things that people experienced with the 06 were resolved and the 08 is a better assembled vehicle.

I do not think that even if the windows were indeed commanded down by either a fault in the BCM or accidentally pressing the unlock button on the keyfob they would not go back up. The only way to externally raise the windows is to put the mechanical blade key in the door lock and holding it in the lock position. In either case I am curious to see what they find. If indeed the windows were down a little and it was done through automated control it would be all windows with AUTO function, so it would not be only one. I would check the auto function first and then inspect the drains, although in a car so new I doubt they would be clogged.

Keep up posted

The doors have water run thru them and drain out the bottom. Possible a door drain is clogged, or there is a void in the seal between the inside of the door and the door panel. The water might be draining behind the door panel and onto the carpet. Also, depends on how the car is pitched when it rains.

Any added on equipment where holes might be drilled. Check under the front floor carpet. I've seen water run in the firewall under the carpet and run out the vent/harness cuts in the carpet under the seat onto the rear carpet.

Thank you Guy's for the feed back it is very helpful and appreciated.

I already let my salesman know about the water leak issue. And he knows I was an autobody tech for seventeen years, so he maybe less likely to pull something over on me. I don't believe the windows are the problem in this case, but am willing to have them checked for future concerns. My bet is the sunroof drain or the door drain as mentioned in the replies. Since I only put 1100 miles on it since November, and it's backed in the driveway all the time. I had an 06 G35 before I traded up, and that car was fine. 50k + for a car, I would hope not to worry about minor issues like this one. But such as life this stuff happens.

Keep you posted.

Million dollar brand new houses can have minor problems too...even major ones sometimes.Dont sweat the little stuff, thats what warranties are there for.
