WATER LEAK MAIN INLET

MY 240 is leaking water out from under the top raidiator hose at the top water inlet on the intake........i have changed hoses....tried different clamps......could there be an actual hole in that piece....and if so do i have to replace my intake?Any help would be sooooo appreciated. If this is DOHC I know there are 2 other water hoses that connect up right next to the upper main water hose. Are you sure it's the main water hose? Check all those hoses too

i know what you mean ...i do have another pin leak in the small hose running through the intake but this one was where everything began......the neck is sort of rusty so i cleaned it to no avail......the water comes out from where the hose meets the metal always after the clamp.....no matter where i put the clamp or how tight......is there a possibility i have a hole in the inlet neck......is it replaceable?oh yeah it is a DOHC

Hmm, it could be a possibility. Make sure the hose isn't damaged of course. It almost makes me think like maybe the rust around it damaged the metal part some how, by lifting it up, or making a dip in the metal.

If that is the case I believe the only way to replace that would to be having a new water inlet welded onto the intake manifold. May be cheaper to get a new intake manifold from a junk yard...

One other last resort option to try is use some high heat silicon gasket maker and you could put that around the hose and where you clamp it. You'd have to let it dry for at least a day before you could start it, but I doubt this would last in the long run.

Yeah I would vote you check all the little hoses around the intake mani, possible gaskey maybe?

well it seems a little metal compound did the trick so far.....before i could pour water in and watch the level drop.....after a little metal compound i pour water in and its not coming out....i hope it stays.......it seems the joint where the little hose(im guessing its called a bypass or something)on the water inlet had come loose....i think the weld on it just failed.....but it seems to be working....you guys are awesome and kept my little green baby on the road......many thanks.....
