Hello fellow suffers,

When it rains and my Rogue starts moving there is water dripping inside the trunk area. It comes from inside the plastic molding around the hatch door glass. Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Thanks.

No suffering here.

Take it to the dealer. Are you not under warranty?

If you have so many issues, why not attempt to lemon your vehicle. Every state has Lemon Laws available to consumers, check it out.

We don't have this sort of leak on our 08.

Yes, I've had this happen once. My 2008 SL was parked in a friends (slightly sloped) driveway overnight and it rained during the night. The next morning I went to leave and as I started backing down the driveway I noticed a stream of water pouring down in the back hatch area (I was turned around due to backing up). I stoped and went back to do a quick check and didn't notice anything obviously cracked or broken.

Since then, I've made a point of checking when it rains or when I'm in the car wash, but I haven't had the problem again.

hi, i also had this sort of problem when i was in a rear end crash when i was inspecting my car on pickup. The machanic took the car back in the shop pulled the panel off and notice one of the gaskets or drain plugs was not installed correctly he just had to reattach it and it never happened again. But in your case it could be broken so i would bring it to the dealer and ask for them to soak the rear with water to determine the problem. Also you can take that panel off youself and you would be suprised if thats the solution.

Can you be more specific about the panel? Do you mean the plastic trim around the hatch window?

Thanks Cory1591, I'll have to take a look at that if I notice the dripping again.

I have a similar problem with my 2009 Rogue SL AWD. Did advice given by Cory1591 work? Did you remove the plastic cover on the lift gate (hatch door)? Did you find the source of the problem?

Cory1591 and any others with this problem, it would be great if you could take some pics of this to show where the problem is, if you want you can email them to me and I'll set them up so they can be viewed in this thread. We'd really appreciate it, thanks.

kastenholz, lucky for me, I haven't had the problem since that one time last summer. At the time, I did kind of push on the trim and such, so maybe that was enough to close whatever gap or plug might have been open.

for mpattdu. Did you ever again park your Rogue on a slope when it rained? You stated in your original post that your vehicle was parked on a slope at a friend's place when you noticed water dripping into the rear after it had rained. Our car is always slightly leaning downward towards the passenger side because the parking area in front of the house is not quite level. And in Washington State we do get a lot of rain, often the severe horizontally wind-driven kind.

Hum, not at that particular spot, but I'm sure I've had it parked on a slope in the rain since then and haven't had the leak again.

Put some silicone around license plate nuts from inside of the trunk lid....just to make sure.
