Morning,Yesterday i noticed that there was about 1.5 inches of water in the back of my car! Only on the back drivers side (My V had been parked in my driveway which is an incline for a couple days). The weird thing is that nothing else was wet, not the front drivers-side floor, seats or anything. I checked the windows too; they were fully up & not even moist. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen... maybe the vent? It rains a lot here, so maybe i'll just have to make sure it gets closed every night.

Thanks guys!BTW I tried to do a search on this, but came up with nothing. Apologies if this has been discussed before

I haven't had a water leak....YET....but I expect I will. On both of my rear passenger doors, the seal has pulled away from the frame at the top, rear. Where the back part of the door touches the back of the door frame, the seal has came loose. I push it in every time some one gets in back there, just in case it does rain.

Was your nose pointing down said incline, or up?

If it was down, the first thing I would check is your trunk seal. I had a friend with a Jetta once that had a "water cannon" for a rear seat... every time it rained, the spare tire well would fill with water, and when he hit the brakes it would shoot forward in a jet from between the splits in the seat.

If it's up, I'm not sure what to tell you. While it way gray and miserable here all weekend, it just didn't rain that much in the grand scheme of things. There might be a possibility of a plugged drain plug in the A/C system, and that may have caused condensation from the A/C system to pool up, but that's more likely to affect the front passenger side.

BTW - When we had those torrential rains back in November, the V stayed completely dry. Even when I drove it through an 8 inch deep puddle at 30 MPH.

Yeah, it was nose up

I'll check all the seals again, maybe i missed something. if it happens again perhaps i'll give my dealer a call. That place is fast becoming my most common hang out spot!

I had a water leak on my V 2 weeks ago. There was 2 place where the water was coming in. The water was coming in by seal of my hathback door. The second place was because the guy that installed my spoiler forgot to pu a seal somewere so i had a wter infiltration. The dealer told me that I wasn't the first one to come for a water leak problem. So, just go to your dealer and he will fix it for free. Sorry for my english because im from quebec

Yeah, when I talked to the service guy he didn't sound so surprised that there was a leak (other than the fact, of course that this will be my THIRD trip to the shop in 4.5 months). They're going to look at it on Friday... hopefully it wont take too awful long to get the part. Took 'em 3.5 weeks to get the gas cap releaser thingy in when it broke (apologies for my super-non-technical terminology... I drive cars; i dont work on them )

So i thought i'd provide an update, just in case any one else ends up with unexplained water on their floorboard and have trouble finding the source.

I ended up taking my V back in to the dealership on Saturday b/c I had standing water... again. Long story (and day) short they found what they think is causing the leak. The service guy said there is a "hole" in the door (rear driver's side) and a "hole" in the rear windshield. They had to send it to a body shop for the repair. Sorry I don't have any more details; the guy said it should be ready to pick up today... but i'm not holding my breath.

Wow... that's extra... special.

I can't say I'm overly surprised, though, since the robot that put the driver's door on my first V dented the door panel right under the mirror.

Actuall i had a leak about a month ago when i put my speakers in, the thing that tripped me out was that it was all inside my DOORS!!! It was in the 2 rears and the driver's when i took it to the dealer he said he didn't see nothing wrong with my doors seeing how i work graveyard, my day off was 3 days later and its hot here in El Paso, so all the water had dried up by then! Good thing there was no horrid smells, i think its ok!

My versa is smelling like a dead rat . I started to peelup the carpet and I,m finding lots of moldy slimy water under the carpet . There is stryofoam shims under there with 1-2" of water! Next week it goes to the dealer. What a drag. I used to love my versa. Anyone else chech under the carpet?

I didn't find any leakage in my V. Toronto got the heavy rain and heavy snow . it is ok. One thing is about the rear door. I must give it a heavy punch to close it. Otherwise the door will leave a gap . Each time when I leave the car, I should make sure the rear door is closed tight.

I have a 4dr Sedan and I'm having issues in my trunk whenever I take it through a car wash. It happens when I use both a fully automatic or one of those places that runs it through for you.

The leak shows up right near the trunk opening directly in the middle and nowhere else. I think its actually entering from under the trunk lip.

Joker,

Ever get that resolved, I suspect I have a similar problem. I notice that if I roll my windows down and then up after a rain or wash, the windows come up wet.

I have constantly had water issues with my 2007 versa. I took it to a water damage specialist since the Nissan dealers kept "explaining it away" rather than investigating it.

With all the seats and carpet removed, they ran water test and discovered that the seam along the side panels and floor is not sealed. Water runs down the side of the car and along seam until it enters the car.

I'm taking it to the dealer with all carpet still removed. They will be hard pressed to call it anything other than a manufacturing defect.

Check Nissan NTB08-069 Service Campaign for water leak in the back.

008–2009 NISSAN VERSA; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN SILL COVER PLATE
Nissan has determined that on some 2008-2009 Versa Sedan and Hatchback vehicles, a sill cover plate is needed to prevent water intrusion into the interior of the vehicle. To remedy this potential condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to install a sill cover plate at no charge for parts of labor.
