Hi Guys,Well in our wonderful South Florida we cannot get away from the tropical rains.....everyday!!! Well, I just went in my car and smelled water, looked around and found two finger deep water in my trunk by the spear tire. I have a '93 hatchback (180SX) and I looked around the the hatchback and all weather strips seem to be fine and no cracks/rips. Any suggestions? I do not want my car to rust and be mistaken for an aquarium. Thanks in advance!

one of 2 things. If you have a wing you could be leaking there, but what it probably is the sealer between you taillights. There are write ups about this that will help you through the process of fixing it. Search "leaky hatch"

the rear wiper boot is my problem, and i have a '93 too. funny, cause the whipper-snapper of a storm put the same amount of water in mine too. Tail light seals shouldn't be because they slope down out of the trunk...

I encountered the same problem w/ my 240. Just go to NAPA or your local autoparts store and buy a package of butyl rubber, it's about $10. Proceed to remove rear taillight assembly and thoroughly clean old butyl sealant, be prepared to spend some time taking the old shyt off, it is a gooey mess. Replace w/ new sealant and reassemble lights, that should be good for another 10 years.
