I doubt many of you guys have ever had this happen to you, but I managed to get about a half of teaspoon (or a teaspoon at most) of water in my Q's gas tank. What should I do? The tank is about half full of gas.

A friend thinks that there's nothing to worry about expect to expect some white smoke out of the exhaust. I want to be sure that I haven't caused any potential damage to my the Q's engine or fuel system.

Also, the Q is currently not street legal and is parked in my driveway. I won't be able to burn off the gas for at least for a few days to a week when I pick and install my front bumper.

I'd rather be safe than sorry. I'll drain the tank right away, but if I do what should I with the contaminated gas?

In case your wondering how I managed to get water in the tank? The gas cap lid is off because I used it to have the my paint color matched.

I recommend diluting it into those red gas cans and using it for the lawn mower or weed whacker.

At our marina, we have a lot of problems with water in the gas....... WE normally get as much gas out as we can, and if you let it sit, the water will go to the bottom..... You can then get out al the water, and you have perfectly good gas on the top..!

Thanks right, boaters must run into this problem all the time. I only have a teaspoon of water in half a tank, so I shouldn't worry about it? right?

There're no drain plugs in car tanks though. I'll drain it all out and wipe up that teaspoon with a rag if I have to, but I'm now under the impression that I don't.

Use ISOheet. 90% isopropyl alcohol. Do not use methanol.

And keep using it for a few tankfuls and you will be ok.

No special action other than this needed.

Is "ISOheet" the products name? Where can I get it?

Thanks guys, this sounds like a solution that I use with a clear conscious.

Try any autoparts store. Not all carry it, or a pharmacy may have 90% isopropyl.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

Any Autoparts store.isoHeet is the name of the product.

Stay away from the regular "heet", "isoheet" is much better at same price.
