Post

About a month ago I filled my 02 Sentra Spec v up at a shell station, and I think that I had got a bit of water in the tank. Since then I have filled the car up about 3 times with 93 premium and have ran several differant things through such as.. Seafoam, Heet drygas, octane boost, Etc... The car seemed to straighten out, but after a rescent fillup the car is acting up again. Does anyone know how long it can take for water to pass through the fuel system? I have been told by a hand full of people that if you get water in the gas that it can take a long time to get it all out.. Can anyone confirm this.. Oh yeah I never let my car get past 3/4 of a tank before fill-up.

thanks

The only way to completely rid the tank of water is to dump it out. There will always be a small amount of water in the tank due to condensation and the greenhouse effect.

The water/ethanol mix corrodes the commutator inside fuel pump and generally plays havoc with injectors.

ISOHEET [IPA] is the only thing that might unseparate the water film............clean the tank out by hand or replace...............everytime you buy water instead of gasoline.

They make test kits to pretest fuel before you allow it in tank.
