have checked sunroof tubes. Seem to drain ok. No water in rear trunk area. No water in sunroof area from overflow. But the gunnels leak into the center post and into the rear floor board. Almost a gallon this morning after hard rain. I had pollen all over inside of car to track water flow. Vacuumed it out and a little leaked out of center post. After pulling plugs in side rail there is definitely water in side rails
Any ideas how its getting in there ? I had already vacuumed it out of there once after checking sunroof drain tubes.Car is facing downhill alittle bit and front frame rail is lower than back on inside. Makes me think its coming from the rear some how and running downhill
thanks for help if any one had this problem?

I had this problem on a former 95 Maxima in different varieties but not on the Q. However, there are some similarities for all Nissans from that time period.

1) The rear sunroof drain vents were clogged. I had to use an air compressor with an nozzle extension and rubber fitting to completely close the hose opening when adding compressed air clear the lines.

2) There is a metal Y pipe on the maxima to allow water from the antenna drain and sunroof drain to be routed outside the rear passenger side fender. The metal Y pipe rusted shut allowing water and debris to fill inside the sunroof drain hose. I picked up a good Y pipe from a salvage yard visit and a new rubber grommet for routing it outside of the fender. I replaced the grommets on both driver and passenger side.

3) Sunroof drain hose was not extended through the opening in the lower rear fender area allowing water to build up inside the fender.

The hose or pipe should run through the grommet to the outside.

ok have traced it down. The frnt tube does not go to outside but stops in the rocker panell down at the bottom left remove the a/t control unit and smaller relays inside kick panel and hose just stops right there inside panel. I think it is supposed to drain through the splicing of the panels. Is this the way every one elses is? You can tell the hose is routed correctly because the way it fits in a hole in the upper chamber but the lower just runs openly into the rocker panel

yea !!!!! yes they drain into rocker panel and drain out about middle way of the trnt door on lower seam hanging down you will feel a bump out. If you pull the door escution or kick off under the door you will see 2 elongated holes in the rocker this about parallel with the 1//2 in bump out under the rocker.in the lower seam. I took a pick stuck it in a wa la! I hope this helps someone else I completely tore out my interior
