hey guys. 240 single cam ka24.

I just recently did a head gasket job and a few days after I find ALOt of white smoke out my exhaust again... It was out of no where like a snap of the fingers.

When popping open the valve cover to check everything out, a lot of oil spilled out as if it was flooded. It almost seems like to much to be a headgasket. I noticed also there was alot of oil going through the pcv ito the intake. I did a compression check and 1 2 4 read 170 and for some reason 3 reads 210. If a head gasket is blown it shouldn't hold compression right?

My next thing I want to check is the timing cover because water lines runs through it. Maybe it didn't seal right and water spilled directly into the engines oil pan? Oil/water mixture level is about halfway up the timing cover so the engine has to be flooded

Just curious if this has happened to anyone before.. I sure don't want to go through another headgasket job or find out I have a cracked block.

How can I test for possible leaks through the timing cover without having to remove it?

that motor it probably trash. i wouldn't spend a dime on an engine full of water and oil unless it was to completely rebuild it. that being said, i wouldn't be surprised if you found the timing chain ate a hole in the back of the water pump. or find you cracked the head. the KA series motor hate to be overheated and will usually warp the head when the head gasket blows requiring you to have the head machined. so maybe you just have a really bad head gasket leaking water into both the #3 cyl and the oil pan. at very least you have that water and oil mixture all in the oil passages and hydraulic rocker arms, by the time you get finished cleaning and replacing all the crap that is messed up you could have probably did a nice budget build.
