I was wondering if anyone knows of any other way than from the sunroof drain that water could be getting into this area? The only thing I see and I'm not sure of why its there is a square hole in the wiper cowl right behind where the glove box is. Is this on all models and should it have a cap or plug of some sort. I really need to figure this out. Already had new transmission put in and new TCM on order due to water and corrosion damage to the original. The sunroof drain is clean.

I found that same hole on mine while cleaning the battery tray and doing some checks on my TCM. I would plug it because I see no use to it being open . Take out your battery and remove the battery tray and tell me what you see under it. Infiniti did not put a good drain on that area and the drain just clogs with dirt and the battery tray area gets full of water and damage all the electronics. CHeck that.

Thanks for the idea and I will certainly look in that area and let you know what I find.

With the door closed shoot some water around the side mirror and see if you get water penetration.

Just as a side note. The water damage to the transmission is because of faulty transmission cooler radiator lines allowing water to enter the transmission. Get an aftermarket external transmission cooler that have nothing to do with your water radiator and avoid another transmission failure.

Thanks to all of you for the ideas. Still don't have the car back in my hands yet but hopefully today. They had trouble programming the TCM due to Consult issue.
