Hi Everybody, new to site not to 240sx verts. I am the original owner of a 1993 vert, 138,000 on it. Recently the old girl sprung a leak behind the blower motor passenger side up under where window joins body. Is there a drain for the widscreen that might be plugged? Is there something in the air conditioning system that might cause it. The carpet gets soaked in about fifteen minutes and my wife hates to ride with the top up and the air on. (Me too really)

Thanks for all the help in advance

This used to happen to my Isuzu Impulse many years ago. It was a blocked line, the one that normall drips out under the car when your AC is running. I had to remove the glovebox then the blower motor and find the drain valve to resolve the problem. Also, if you run the recirculate most often this is likely to happen more as there is more condensation in this mode. Make sure you run "open" as well to reduce condensation.

Good Luck!

Thanks, I sort of figure thats what it was but was hoping it might be fixable without yanking glove box and blower.

Thanks again

are you absolutely sure about that? i think that running it in recirculate mode would create less condensation because it recirculates the air inside the car which has already ran through the a/c system and gotten dehumidified. running on outside air where all the humidity is, will create more condensation. this is why houses recirculate the air instead of pulling it from outside as to create a lower humidity evironment, which is especially helpful in high humidity area like FL for example.

when my nissan pathfinder's a/c got plugged all i did was poke a coat hanger up into the drip tube and it loosened up the debris. it was a bunch of leaves and dirt.

It's entirely possible that I am wrong, I just remember reading that in a manual back then. Again, many years ago...fading memory.

I had to yank the blower because the water backed up into the blower motor and I had to take it apart and clean the bushings, magnets, etc. My drain line was clogged with leaves, etc too.

Try the coat hanger first. If your motor is fine then this might be all you need to do.

don't run the a/c too much when it's like that because it can overflow and leak onto the ECU which is near all that stuff. then you're car would be a dead paperweight till you replaced that box. seen it happen before to a friend.
