The two things needed to swap in the 4.08 R&P into the R200v on the Q are the Ring Gear Spacer and longer bolts.

Then you need to find somebody who can setup a Nissan R200 diff properly.

I suggest Unitrax in California. Talk with Devin.

Last time I spoke with him, he said that they can still do the 4.08 upgrade but eventually the spacer might not be available.

Yes....longer bolts will prevent you from seeing this after less then 300 miles. The driveline shop had a machine shop make a custom set of bolts so they bite better and will not work their way loose unlike the pics below.

It is not easy to setup a differential correctly and I had a really damn good shop do it and they stood behind their work 100% paying for 100% of the costs to find another pumpkin, buy all new parts again, and this time around make longer bolts. Well....ater 10,000 miles and several trips to the drag strip my 4.08 is here to stay without a single problem. Make sure you all take it to a very good driveline shop that will stand behind their work as it ain't cheap doing R&R with differentials and then synthetic fluids.

Even though my car is sold....I hope to be hearing that some of you all besides Greg, sijoko, and I have a 4.08 and what you all think about it. If you all can get this R33 for less than $500 then another $200 in swapping flanges then you will have a nice modification to really wake the Q up for some fun in city driving.

Rob's right - The 4.08 is easily the best mod I did to mine.

The car should have had a 4.08 from the factory.

And +1 on Unitrax - I wouldn't recommend the shop that did mine and Rob's FIRST diff to ANYONE.

I've heard they're the same, but you should check to verify. As long as it has the 6-bolt flanges it should work.

You don't want or need the axles - use your stock ones.
