i had this guy help me build the car and he wired the wastegate open so that i could break the engine in.. the engine is almost completely broken in and i dont know how he wired it? I blew the last motor because of a faulty headgasket and on that one he just disconnected the vacume line. but I checked out the vacume line and everything is in place. Im not sure but he said something about wireing it open through the ecu and id like to hook it up soon. Im only pushing 2-4 pnds of boost and i want to squeeze the most out of the gt25 anybody know how to hook it up?

thanks but i answered my own question, what happend was the guy retarded the timing so that the turbo would boost in order to properly break in the engine. The car is running great now, i got godspeed to reset the timing.

i did a sr20 swap in a "96 240sx with a gt25 turbo, exedy racing clutch, b&m short shifter, greddy exhaust 3 1/2 in. w/o cat or a resenator all the way back, and a few other small mods. I just keep on running into small problems along the way. I blew a front main seal, luckily it was only the one of two and the front plate didn't need to come off. and now i have a boost leak coming from the piping going to the turbo, it is a little too close to the exhaust manifold and it burned a hole right through the pipe i had on there so...im just going to keep working on it and eventually it will pan out.

what you're probably looking for is a new wastegate actuator. it's that round thing on your turbo. a boost solenoid is gonna be hooked up to a boost controller. if you don't have an ebc, you won't have a boost solenoid.

You could have an exhaust leak or your wastegate stuck open to explain why you've got no boost

what is the easiest way to know wheather or not the wastegate is stuck open other than taking it apart because i really dont want to take the exhaust manifold off to check it out. I was thinking of just buying a manual boost controller and just running like 10 pounds... not much but it will do for now. i know that waste gate actuators are fairly expensive so i dont know that i would want to go that route..... any suggestions?
