wastegate setting?

are internal or external wastegate adjustable?

if not, are there any aftermarket wastegate?

A wastegate physically restricts boost...this limit can be adjusted through the use of a boost controller.

Forgot to mention some wastegates are not adjustable, but most are.(try google.com next time, you can find lots of interesting stuff there and then I wouldn't have to do any thinking or typing :) )

they make actutors with threaded shafts to increase the tension and by relation the boost. External wastegates usually have a bolt in the top you can turn to increase tension on the spring and by relation increase the boost. I have seen people stretch springs across the actuator arm to jack up the boost but I wouldn't reccomend that.

if a turbo have a wastegate that is operated by the pressure of the compressed air which moves a diaphram(actuator)and linked to the valve of the wastegate to control the boost. is that a internal or external wastegate.

then why would ppl use an external wastegate? is it because the turbo doesn't have a internal one?
