Well the whole time I thought the fluttering was coming from my BOV. Come to figure it is actually coming from my wastegate. I bought the tial bov and I put it right before the throttle body. So now I hear fluttering right in front of me and I here a woosh to the right of me. So what does it mean when the wastegate is fluttering? The reason I say it is the wastegate and not the bov is because of how far away the bov is away from where I sit. If you listen closely the bov is going off simultaneously with the wastegate. It was easier to hear in the car then it is in the vid. I will post another video once my daughter goes to sleep. I will place the camcorder under the hood so you can figure where the noise is coming from.

this is a under the hood shot pointing straight at the wastegate it isnt fluttering as much as it wasearlier. It still makes the same fluttering noise as the first movie though.http://hustlecoke.com/randy/videos/wastegate1.mov

This is a under the hood shot pointing right at the bov no flutter at allhttp://hustlecoke.com/randy/videos/bov.mov

It may take a few seconds for the videos to load. They are also in quicktime format.

I just watched the movies and I think it might have been the bov I dont know I am confused. Maybe since it was a new bov it needed to be broken in a little. I dont know

I doubt you are hearing the wastegate. The only time I've ever heard a wastegate open is when I had an open dump pipe and it just sounds like a weird and load open exhaust sound. Nothing like a BOV. I'm certain you are hearing the BOV. It's operating just fine. I have that same flutter for 2 years ith no problems. I've heard it in several other turbo cars as well. If you can find some BOV tests that were done (Turbo Magazine did one a while back), you'll see that the pressure spikes many times when the throttle is closed. Pretty much in line with the fluttering. Whether the BOV vents in a continuous manner or a fluttering one, as long as keeps pressure and airflow at the compressor out of the surge area, the turbo's thrust bearings will remain happy.
