Ok Ok OK

Here is my thoughts.. Since a BOV is a Simple Device... would buying a TurboXS one be ok? I know they say you get what you pay for... but can a TurboXs BOV really be that bad??? I just need it to hold up to 30psi of boost...

Now the next part.. WasteGate I was looking at a Tial... Is Tial 100% the only option I should go with.. I have a Cast Iron Manifold but I cant remember the Size if its 38mm or 35Mm so I will have to check.. But I im sure its 38mm..

Anyway.. Im wasking becuase I want to buy whats Practical not whats over Inflated... Why spend 300$ on blah if a 150$ blah achives the same result... Its not Like im going to be beating the HOG poo out of my car anyway..

Thanks guys

my 50$ SSA wastegate made me boost spike to 25psi of boost and sent my motor to the grave. few weeks later i added in a Tial wastegate and it held 8.6psi perfectly. just a heads up...

and BTW...if you're sure its either 35/38mm then it uses the same flange. you'll see on the wastegate description it will be for use of 35/38mm

The wastegate IS NOT one thing you should look to save $$$ on...buy a real-deal TiAL 38.

...

As for the BOV...if it fails, what happens? Nothing. So you can try a TurboXS one...anyway, they are pretty well known in SRT4 and VW circles, and seem to be decent quality.

I have the TurboXS dual stge boost controller and bypass valve. Both have been flawless.

The BOV was used on my Skyline which saw 28psi on the weekends. No leaks...atleast non I could notice. At that much boost you aren't going to see a leak unless somthing cracks or the BOV just stickes open.

O I also have to add to that list the SSautoCrap intercooler... Again A IC's Job isnt a Hard one and nothing is really dependent on it other than air cooling "Which I know is a big job" But Will a SSautocrap one work fine ? for me... also what sizes do you run at 400WHP ? at around 28psi of boost or so...

dont expect crap parts to work wonders on your car... trust me, i learned the hard way.

a cheap intercooler will cool well for low and mid boost applications. at high boost, im not sure how the welds on the intercooler will hold up.

honestly if your thinking 20psi....all SSA..all cheap sht...all shortcuts...should be erased from your head...SSA should be CENSORED to you. you'll want quality all the way and that will ensure safe boosting

So here I am, I have the engine built almost, Im running a T3/T04E and looking for 400Whp On boost... and 450 on Nitrous. I have just got 1200$ to spend on the rest of my turbo stuff.... So far Ordering

Koyo Radiator - 300$Tial WasteGate - 150 to 200$BOV - 100$Intercooler - ( Needs to handle 450hp ) ???Pipeing - ( Is 2.5" to small )Electric Fan conversion - 150$ for Two

There is about 750$

And I know that Crap parts = Crap... but I'm just trying to balance Praticality with Money. Like I had said... I don't want to drop X amount on something that only better becuase of a Name on it... Thats Why I said I would go with the Tial... Wastegate and nothing else lol ... I also guess I need to facter in the IC PSI drop into what kinda turbo to get... becuase I know if i get a Off brand IC im going to loose more PSI across it ...

Well you still need a mafs, and ecu tune or some kind of piggyback. You need more $$$ to accomplish your goal. Another 1k and it could be doable. Get everyhtign done right the first time so you don't piss away your money.

Like was said earlier. If you are even thinking of making more than 400whp, then only the best items should be considered for your setup.

The 'if a $150 device works just as well as a $300 device' line will not cut it at 28psi of boost. Chances are you will find yourself buying the $300 device later on, and guess what? You've spent three times the original amount to arrive at this conclusion.

At 28 psi of boost and 400whp, you have to trust only the best parts at this stage of the game. Otherwise, you will experience some type of failure and then guess how much all this will cost you?

More than the $150 you saved on the wastegate.

I have a brand new xs power blowoff valve i will sell to you cheap if you really want to go that route if not I will probably trash it if you are interested email [email protected] The reason I am selling this is because I got a greddy blowoff valve instead

ok about the wastegate. i plan on running low boost only (below 10psi, probibly wont go over 8) i plan on runnig a t25 (to start out), type s bov, 370cc, 8:1 fmu (for now), walbro 255, 2.5"piping (exhaust, intake and plumbing probibly 2.5" as well) no safc (yet)

so with this applicaton would it be safe, for now only, to go with any wastgate (not really really cheap, but not expensive either)

also im planning on runnin a jrc front mount.

okay never mind that post, reading about boost spikeing and everything, im just gonna buy a tial 38mm and get it dont and over with. i mean the expensive turbo parts are like condoms and guns, better to have one and not need it, then to need it and not have one!!
