So the other day i had a question about my boost controller that i have since ruled the boost controller out. But my car still will not boost past 15-16psi. Yesterday i performed a boost leak test and found a small leak that i fixed and took it out for a couple test pulls. Boost builds much faster now but still will not exceed 15-16psi. after making the first set of runs i came back and disconnected the boost controller solenoid plugged the manifold port and disconnected the signal lines to the wastegate actuators. still only 15-16 psi but comes on much more rapid now. and with it like this it should build way too much boost. upon this check i hooked everything back up as it normally would be but i turned the boost controller to setting off. ( which allows the car to run on stock wastegate pressure) it will only build 7psi. Have any of you all experienced a wastegate failing (safe) like this? they are about 2 years old now and were the factory actuators with the Z1 gt600r kit.

So I found the problem with the Zed. Upon testing the actuators with my mighty vac gun I noticed the actuators started opening at 7psi and they were real weak to the touch.. meaning it was easy to open them by hand. I adjusted both rods so the wastegate pressure is @ 12psi now with apexi avcr set on 1.15kg cm² @ 64% duty cycle it holds a perfect 1.18kg cm² all the way through each pull. At first it overboosted to 1.29 with the duty up much higher at only 1.0kg cm² she back in action now time to
re setup the apexi avcr

Hope this will help someone else in the future!

Good stuff.
I read similar stuff regarding my upgrade bb turbos and set about the same thing (evening the actuator opening rate) myself, but not being installed yet I stopped before finishing as vac needs to be present as you note to be sure all is correct...and my Z guy did this when all was installed.
Bottom line is I agree this is important, and a good place to look should your turbos be acting oddly or an imbalance of boost is noted so thanks for sharing!
