I have been running my t25 black-top for about 3 years now, Rebuilt once recently.
The thing has been running strong @ 10psi loving every minute of it!
The problem I am having now I had before and I fixed the problem with a new wastegate (HKS Adjuctable) actuator. My turbo is old and worn but it spins freely and has little to no play.
Under load while boosting you can hear the turbo working and spinning but the power just aint there, pulls a little but the exhaust sounds muffled and there is a definite power loss BIG TIME! Weird thing is I do not have a loss of psi on my gauge so as far as the gauge tells me I do not have a boost leak? No problems at idle either, Idles normally. So the only change and/or problem is the thing feels like its dragging, terrible!
Could this be a bad actuator again? Im a little hesitant to just go out and blow 120$ bucks for nothing! Could this be something else?
"New Development" 05/04/10 - Just pulled apart all the intercooler piping im running a SMIC btw, adjusted my actuator to the tightest setting "has been set there before so i know its safe for my set up" and put it all back together nice and slow to insure no boost leaks. Warmed it up and went for a spin, dropped it down into 3rd from forth and punched it, boosted strait up to 6psi and it just farted all over the place. Motor screaming like I should be hauling a** but I was moving at pace of an s2000... Then it sputtered and popped on the intake side... so I layed off! Got it home check everything, nothing out of the norm... So now im really confused!
