So i wired it up using the diagram with the z32 ignitor as i have a rb20 with a z32 ignitor installed already http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b269/ ... 32coil.jpg. As i went to start the car everything died along with a faint popping sound. So i check all my fuses and found my 30 amp ignition sw relay popped. So i check the diagram again and read later in the thread that in the diagram the 12v and ground wire are mixed up on the 3 pin plug. Got those two wires switched; when i went to start it only turned over never fired. Checked all my grounds/connections and all seems fine. i even took everything out and put it all back in just to make sure everything was done right according to the schematic. Is there maybe something else that went out that i haven't found maybe. trying to get your guys thoughts on what may have happened. Thanks.

What I would do it check make sure you are still getting the signals from the ECU to the plug on the ignitor (you can check the voltage in the FSM) and do continuity checks of your wiring. Also, check your ignitor via diode check on your multimeter (most multimeters have this setting).

So i bought a multimeter tool the iEquus 3300. Never used a multimeter before so im clueless as to what all these different settings do. Read the instructions for the diode testing. Still dont understand where i put the leads to. Also in the fsm it only shows testing on a rb25de. Im so confused lol.

Another thing did i fry a diode in the ecu maybe when i had the the 12v and ground switched. Just wondering after i saw this thread burned-ecu-need-help-identifying-diode-t560797.html
Also im getting fuel so that would mean my cas is fine right?

Ok checked ecu everything looks good. Had a buddy come over and teach me how to use the multimeter. Im getting power to the bottom of my coil but not to spark plugs (we tried ground a spark splug no ark). So did the brand new coil go out?

are you only having a misfire on one coilpack or all of them? Did you check your ignitor and perform continuity checks on all of your wiring?

I had one coil pack go out and i swapped the pack that was missing around from cyl to cyl to make sure that it was the coil pack. And yes i did the checks aswell. Just the coil on top is getting no power. Did i short the coil when i popped my 30a ignition sw maybe?

Well if it follows the coilpack then you found your problem. Honestly I figured the ignitor would have failed first. I had a defective ecu that had all six coilpack turned on whenever the ignition was on, needless to say it cooked the ignitor.

yea I've even swapped ignitors and still same thing. Well ill go get another coil and see if that's it.

Ive given up on this wasted spark. Swapped the ignition coil still wont fire. Going back to coil packs shouldve just spent the money on that in the first place.
