are internal waste gates better than external. kind of a dumb question sorry.

external are a lot better, they flow more, hold more, and generally look more bad a$$. Internal wastegate is a bunch of compromises. Want further proof? You'll notice you can't get an internal gate on any of the 'big boy' turbo's.

plus the externally wastgate allows you to have an wastegate dump pipe:)
