waste gate question

can a waste gate work with out the fire ring.

It'll leak like a mofo, thats why I use ice rings, the fire ones get too hot.

it's a tial clone for my borthers car the problem is i don't know if it's a 35mm or 38mm what do i measure.

the size refers to the valve seat - the part where the valve seals to the fire ring, measure the diameter and you'll know what size ring you need

notice the difference in the valve assembly covers. If yours is a clone you'll just have to measure the valve seats.
