got a question?

i have a 95 240 n well there was a huge cement log in the middle of the road that i hit, tried to dodge it but it still hit my 2 right tires. some stupid morons carried it n put it out there from a small plaza right next to it...

soOooo my airbags both deployed which is a ***** n i had to get new tires n rims...but i want to fix the dash n get a new steering wheeL...is it worth even fixing or would it be better to just buy another 240...if i do not sell it i want to redo the whole interior myself n install everything so if anyone has any tips on how to do this...it be appreciated...

my poor baby...i still love my 240 tho.

If it runs and all that is wrong is the air bags, that's a semi easy fix. If you decide to fix, i have many parts. Let me know.

Did it mess up any other suspension parts? You might want to look the entire suspension over.

Yeah, make sure all your arms and possibly tie rod are all intact.

Dash assemblies don't come cheep. Especially shipped. If it's just the air bags, i'd just get an assembly from a junk yard. Shop around there's pleanty of people who want to get rid of them. Im selling my dash and airbags, dash support, steering column, and drive shaft, for $1300 shipped to this guy in N.Y. Just to give you an idea of what air bags would cost, it's around $250 for the assembly and covers. <<Tom>>

Yeah you should definitely get an alignment done to see if the arms are bent or anything. And welcome to the boards, Search button is in the top right of page

Hey sps14mc, i think you should take your 240 to the Nissan dealer and have them look at it just to see what is wrong with it. Cuz my older bother was driving my other brothers Jetta and ran into a curb at about 30- 40mph and because of that my brother had to pay about 1500-2000 in repairs to this car and one wheel is still about 1" behind the other...This is what he had to replace

-Front Suspension

-Control arms

-Ball joints Upper and lower

-Bearings

-CV Shaft -CV joints -Tie rod

-Tie rod end

-Some Other things i dont remeber....

Also you should go in for an aglinement after you repalce the parts, because they cant agline the car if the wheels arent correct. And they'll tell you what needs to be replaced so that you can drive. If you can get an aglinement then most likely your car is safe to drive. Well i hope that helps ya

I would take it to a shop just to have it checked, your definetly going to need an alignment. I doubt you've damaged any other suspension parts since it was at a semi-slow speed.

yes i am definitely going to get an alignment done...soon i hope when i gots more money. i also have to buy 1 more tire because there is hardly ANY tread left...balance everything, check the suspension...going to the junkyard to checkout dashes and other usefuL parts.

lol my car is falling apart. i have to get a diagnostic test done. BLAH!!! cars cost too much money to buy AND fix!

I'm sorry about your car. Yes they cost alot, but doesn't it make it worth it all when she is fixed and running great and just begging you to drive her? I fall in love with my car everytime I drive it. I've been in much worse situations than you as well. It all turned out OK with me, so I'm sure it will with you. Just have patience. I hate patience, but I have some now thanks to my car, haha.
