Wondering what everyone does to wash you Z. I live in a condo and have no access to water. I just washed it at a car wash bay. Rinse, soap, wax, and towel dry. Anyone run theirs threw a car wash machine? I am woried about my rims getting f-ed up. Also, years back when I had a Lincoln LSC which I bought from a car dealer (private sale). He said the best way to keep your car looking new was not to use soap when ever possible. Just rinse, sponge some dirty parts, and towel dry. Any thoughts?

http://www.meguiars.com/tips/a...ID=10..now I dont want to see swirl marks in your car now okay? oh and one more thing NEVER USE A SPONGE on your car..it will scratch your finish. I only use Meguiars stuff on my car. The less frequent you wash your car the better..use a duster between washes to extend the carwash..I recomend the Original California Car Duster<- sounds funny

I regularly take my car to the carwash(newer-10 years or less-the older ones have higher clearance limitations)...my rims are fine, I go for the cheap wash, then wax it at home.

I use Zaino bros products for washing/waxing. Their soap is really concentrated...some of the best soap I've ever used! Check 'em out!

Use a good car wash soap. Do not use just water. Soap suds help lift dirt and dust up away from the paint. Water does to a very small effect, but not nearly as much as soap suds. Don't use non-carwash soaps (dish soap) as their lye content is high and can strip wax very quickly. Also don't use too much car wash soap as it can also strip wax if you do (use the amount stated on the package).
