Washing Intellikey

After a year and three months I finally left my Intellikey in my pants pocket and put them in the laundry. I found it it the bottom of the washing machine last Friday night. I didn't try the key or touch any of the buttons, just put it in a ziplock bag with enough rice to cover it and left it until Monday morning. It works like new!

Lol, i've heard stories from other people saying that they took their key in the ocean, etc...and that they still work...good to know!

...not that i am purposely going to dunk my key in the bathtub...

I think they designed them with that intent. i have washed mine 2 or 3 times.. works great!

OMG....I can't believe that they are that indestructible. That is the good thing about having a purse, I just put that bad boy in there and forget about it.

My mom accidentally dropped her Frontier Keys with remote into the toilet once as she was flushing. It caused a clog, so a plubmer was called into fix the clog. They retrieved the key. I ended up opening it up to check for damage and found it has some positive sealing features to make it water resistant. It worked just fine after I put it back together. Key worked fine too. Of course, both were extensively cleaned but yeah, they are somewhat waterproof. Don't expect it to handle scuba diving or something though.
