I just did the z32 brakes a couple weeks ago and the front didn't clear. I put in some washers for temporary spacers. Anybody know if thats a bad idea? Don't want to screw anything up!

Yes, that is very bad, spend the $20 and get some spacers...

just think about it for a minute... rotating mass pressing up against a spacer that presses against the rotor/hub... or 4 or 5 sets of washers that press all up against the lug nut... ur wheel will be moving like this once it snaps off your car:

I have 5/8 in worth of front spacers if you want them make me an offer, otherwise they are the same ones you can get at PepBoys.

To be correct about it; look for a machine shop that will make you "hubcentric" spacers, I've seen some website retailers advertise them for $100.

I had all four of my rotors drilled for $60. This is really frustrating trying to get everything I want done on such a limited budget... I need to be sure of the size spacer I need but I really don't have an idea of what they go for. You can e-mail me at [email protected] and I'm sure we can arrange something. Thanks.

yeah washers for spacers are a really bad idea. Be sure to look for hubcentric wheel spacers when you're doing your lookin' around. The other studcentric spacers are junk too, don't waste your cash on those. I picked up a set of hubcentric wheel spacers that a nice spacer for my wheels as well from wheel adapters. Awesome stuff.

I think one of our sponsors, Ichiba, sells them. Check Advertiser Specials forum.

The stock wheels will not clear without spacers. I have the stock 7 spoke alloy wheels with 26mm Z32 brakes and the wheel would barely nick the caliper. I went to http://www.enjukuracing.com and bought 5mm spacers. Problem solved.

I'm sure if you were to buy 5mm spacers for the steel wheels that they would clear aswell, don't quote me on this though.

Oh, and about redrilling them for 4 lug. If you have access to a drill press, simply placed the stock 4 lug rotor below the new Z32 rotor and use it as a pattern. Start off by aligning one of the holes. After drilling each hole I put a bolt hat fit snuggly through each one to ensure that nothing moved around. Of course, your going to want to line up both of them perfectly and use clamps to keep everything in place anyway.

did you use extended wheel studs for the 5mm? When i test fitted my stock wheels back on for winter they barely went on the studs without hitting the caliper.

Nope, stock studs are long enough. Anything spacer larger than 5mm I would probably have to get longer studs.

With my 17" ADR wheels, the 5mm. did the trick. When bought from Ichiba, the spacers come with stud extentions if you need them anyways.
