Washed Engine, Now Car Won't Start!

I washed my engine today, with it running... btw... i have a 91 204sx hatch, i didnt get any water into the filter, so it cant be hydrolocked, and i replaced the distributor cap and rotor button after. the car will turn over, but it seems like its not getting any gas it just wont start. can someone please help?

Pull the plugs. They are probably soaked. Dry them out. Leave the distributor cap off for a little while as well to allow the whole assembly to dry out. It should fire up after that.

Yeah, I would say that instead of not getting enough fuel, you may not be getting spark. If you pull the plug boots and see water, that may well be your problem.

Give it a day and see if it starts up. If not, you can check to see if you're getting fuel and spark.

how do you exactly wash your engine..?sorry for sounding dumb

I pull the - terminal on the batterycover the alternator, cover the fuse/relay boxes, the distributor, spark plugs (or in my case coil pack areas), air filter and mafs, brake and clutch master cylinders then spray down with degreaser.

i checked the plugs and pulled the wires to see if they were wet... they were dry, tried to start it again, and it just turns over... but still no start, it just seems like there is no gas getting to it, i just installed a new fuel filter about a month ago also... any more suggestions?
