got a question for the group
I just bought a 2018 Rogue Sport,, it was a rental car, with 26000 miles
so it still has some factory warranty remaining
i went to my Local Nissan dealer, ask them about an extended warranty
the fiance guy said i can still get the extended factory warranty thru Nissan which would extend it to 100,000 and 6 yrs with a $100.00 deductible
they quoted me a price of $2500. and with no deductible about $3000.

my question. is it worth the expense,
or is there another warranty that might be okay, lets say just a drive line warranty

Thank you
Ken from Yuma,AZ

That's way too high.... $1000 would be more reasonable. But extended warranties are a pain since you never know what you're paying for until you submit a claim.

The only likely failure items are the A/C and the transmission, but ONLY IF you abuse them.

I wouldnt do it.. Set aside 2100 for 3 years of maintenance and repairs and I bet youll have some left over...

99% of repairs are unnecessary, if the idea is to get from point A to point B.

Think about it - Very few mechanical failures render the car inoperable.

But do you REALLY want to drive a car that has been maintained like a 1955 Chevy in Castro's Cuba?

I have no doubt that my car could be subjected to the harshest and most rigorous scrutiny by the crew at T3 without flinching. And that's well worth $1500.

One transmission failure > $1500A/C goes bad > $1500Rear diff > $1500Suck a valve > $1500

It's called insurance. The warranty companies count on you being one of the doofuses who buys the warranty and then don't take the car in for regular inspections and maintenance. Don't be that guy.

Extended warranties are just as negotiable as the price of the vehicle was. $2500-3000 is highway robbery! Check the below thread out for what others have paid and do your research. There may be less expensive warranties available from outside sources.

Paying $2500 for warranty for up to 100k miles of the vehicle or the vehicle up to 6 years old is not worth it, but then again, you need to base it off of your driving habits and the amount of miles you average per year. I got an additional warranty that is 100k additional miles and 4 years. The 100k miles part started at 71k miles for me and will end at 172k miles, whereas Nissan it will ONLY go up to 100k miles, and not further. After 100k miles, they obviously want you to either get a new car or pay a crap ton for repairs out of pocket.
