Post

Hi all,

I'm bringing in my 2007 Versa SL Hatch next week and I need to know what to say to my dealer...

Problem 1:I have the loud "thud/boom" noise from the rear-side when I go over certain speed-bumps (even at low-speed). I've had it for awhile, there's no damage to my car...but I'm sick of it and it seems to be an on-going problem for Versa owners.

Problem 2:Rapid-clicking noise when the A/C is turned on initially. This noise goes away some of the time after the A/C has been on for awhile. But its still annoying!

I know both topics have been discussed endlessly...but I'm hoping people with recent (or past) experience with this problem and dealt with it at the dealer-level can help me out with...

-How to describe the problem...-What the mechanic should look for???-SERVICE BULLETIN(s) that I can show the dealer!!!??? -Anything else that might help.

My Versa is Cdn. but I'm sure its the same as US Versas....so US service bulletins are okay.

Thank you all in advance for helping me keep this Fit/Yaris-killer in tip-top shape!

ps...what is this clunking-noise-when-turning problem I see popping up more often for the Versa now...I don't think i have this problem but i'm keeping my eye/ear on it....

I've never experienced the noise you're describing at the rear of the car.

The A/C noise is normal.

And I've never had noise with the A/C, but several people have reported that the thump going over speed bumps is just the tire or jack bouncing, and have been able to correct it by seating them better.

I haven't experienced either of these problems, however the sound over bumps could possibly be the spare tire/jack bouncing around, although since it happens even at low speeds I am inclined to say that probably isn't the case. I think it is more likely to be a suspension bushing or loose muffler mount or something like that.
