Is it good investment or waste of money? I am looking 6 years 100K. plan for $1K

Any suggestion – comments will be very appreciated

I did the 72/72 extended, mainly because CVT is still new and this is my wife's DD. I have purchased extended warranties in the past and used them, I have also not used them so it's all in how comfortable you feel with it. If it wasn't for the CVT i probably would have said no because I know I am capable of doing most of the work to the vehicle on my own.

trance 34,

The CVT portion of the extended warranty is less of concern now that Nissan has extended the CVT warranty (internal components) to 10 years/120,000 miles:

But that extended warranty doesn't cover 2011 unless they've changed it since December. I purchased the extended warranty because of the cvt also

Ah, I missed that. You are correct, the extended warranty is only for MY 03-10 vehicles.

Any question of worth is highly subjective, regardless of the topic. Extended warranties are no different and you'll get opinions all across the board. Have you looked at any of the other extended warranty threads?

Yeah I asked about this first. If the CVT transmission had this coverage on the 2011's I wouldn't have gotten the extended warranty.

Yes, You are absolutely right. And I am interested in these subjective opinions.
I don’t like aftermarket extended warranty, because have had a bad experience with it.

Here is the existing discussion thread on this topic, some very interesting opinions including mine on this subject!!

post6003588.html?hilit=extended warranty#p6003588

I have always preferred to keep my money in my pocket rather than purchase an extended warranty, however I've never been offered a good plan for such a low price - $1000 is substantially lower than the $2500 to $3500 plans that I've encountered in the past. It really depends on the details too, such as what is specifically covered, deductible, and for how long. There are those rare occaisions when the coverage can save you, but I think more often the coverage will not be needed and the money will be lost, which is why dealerships like to sell them to you.

Those plans are not aftermarket warranties, they are extended factory warranties through Nissan. Or at least thats how I understand them. I had an extended factory warranty on my Sentra and it was used a couple times with no questions.
