I noticed today that my right rear tire has a sidewall bulge. It is like a straight line bulge which runs most of the height of the sidewall. Would the tires be covered under warranty? I know when you buy aftermarket tires they usually have some type of warranty. My Versa was purchased in Oct 06 and has about 25000km on the original OEM tires.

I am only assuming but I would say your tires would be covered under the standard car warrantly. But I doubt they would be a free swap out as they are considered a "wear part". I would just call your local dealer and find out.

May be different for you, but I know I had to purchase a separate tire warranty. Much like when I purchase new tires, I'll also have to purchase the replacement certificates.

Ran into this problem at 615 miles on the Continental tires. Had a blowout at 120 kmh. Called the dealer and guess what.....Tires are not covered by Nissan even though it was defective from the manufacturer. This is in the owners docs. Supposedly covered by the Manufacturer, but I was unable to get hold of any dealer that carried them in Calgary. Seems to be none so I ended up buying 2 Nexxen Tires and replaced 2 tires for less cash than ordering a new Continental tire from the Dealer. It left me with a less than good feeling about things, but this has been the only issue I have had in 14000 kms so far.
