Hello everyone. First post here.

Have a sedan G-35. Bought in April of 2004. Love the car. Problem is my fuel door just broke and I am told it needs fixing.

It happened on Saturday (April 26th). I found out today my warranty ran out on April 20th.

I have spoken to a few people at Infiniti about getting it done under warranty but so far no luck. Actually everyone has been quite nasty so far. Anyone have much luck in getting stuff done on warranty when its only a few days after expiry???

All I can say is tough luck. The warranty is from the factory and the factory reimburses the service department for warranty work. So its probably not going to happen as the factory wouldn't reimburse them. And as a business, the factory just wants to get a vehicle through the warranty period as there are a lot of warranty costs. As a supervisor in a business that has expiration dates as well, all we can say is sorry, you owe us money, however I don't get nasty. Nothing you can really do about it, its just an unfortunate situation--an expiration date is an expiration date. Give one person leniency, have to give everyone leniency.

I am no fan of warranties because in most instances they are a waste of money. However, I made an exception with my G and took the extended warranty. My dealer is hitting my credit card $170.00 a month for a year,no finance charge. Is it worth it? Who the f knows? So far in just over 57k miles, two tire pressure sensors and one drivers side air bag module were replaced under warranty. The extended warranty covers some items not covered under the original factory warranty. My advice is pay a visit to the dealer ASAP and inquire about a extended warranty purchase, the price, and after you get it return to get the fuel door fixed. Always a good idea to $$$ the service advisor. He's got a lot of power over your wallet. Had you put $$ in his hand as he looked at your fuel door, well who knows? Just my $.02

Good luck
