I received a letter from Nissan yesterday letting me know that they are extending the emissions warranty for the evaporative emission vapor vent tube to 15 years or 150,000 miles if the tube is found to be clogged. They note that "a hard-to-fill condition is a symptom that may indicate a clog in this evaporative emission vapor vent tube." The letter also states that if you've had this part replaced before 15 years/150k miles you may be eligible for reimbursement. Not included in the warranty is the emission canister, check valve, or other parts of the emission system.
The letter was specific to my VIN and specifically said "Dear 2008 Nissan Rogue Select Owner," so I'm not sure if other years are covered by this or not. It was a letter in an envelope, and not a postcard type mailing like I've received for TSBs. Just thought I'd give a heads up to the community so other owners are on the look out for the letter, or if you bought used, you might Nissan to see if it applies to your VIN.
