Gents,

The 3yr warranty on my 2011 M37x is expiring next month, and is due for an oil change in the next 2 weeks. What should I have them look at when I bring it in? These are the concerns I have at this point:

Transmission - the same old herky-jerky issues, delayed response, over revving, etc. I've had this car for 6 months, and have had it in the shop twice for this. Both times I was told "our mechanic didn't detect a problem on the test drive". I've heard about the software update, does it do anything? How do you get the dealer/shop to apply it?? They pretty much denied it's existence.
Engine noise - The engine seems to have gotten noisier on acceleration over the last 10K kms. What should I have them look at specifically?
Brakes - The brakes seem 'dirty' - I can feel bumps in the brake pedal when braking. The car was a lease return at an Infiniti dealership - not the same one I go to for service due to location - and the brakes were supposed to have been fully serviced when I got it 6 months ago.
Passenger side front window - Automatic rolldown/up hasn't worked since I got the car. It took Infiniti several months to get the part in.

Anything else I should have them look at since it'll be out of warranty in a month? In fairness they've been pretty good at the Infiniti shop with the exception of the transmission issues. Should I be looking at getting an extended warranty? I know there's a thread about this but I would rather not go third party.

BTW I love this car, I really do. Best I've ever owned.

Thanks,
Otown

First, welcome.
The factory warranty in the US is 4yrs, not 3 (not sure if it's a typo or I just bought you one more year of coverage )
If the latter - you're welcome, if not, look into extended plan. There is a good topic or two on the warranty subject.
The window auto roll up is a setting that may be disables or get's disabled when the battery is disconnected. There is a simple procedure to reset it:
1. close the window
2. press and hold button to open the window all the way.
3. pull up and hold the button to close the widnow all the way up, continue holding for at least 3s after closing.
release the button - done.
4. press once to see if works.
However if both up and down auto don't work, you may have some other issue but try the reset anyway.

The transmission reprogram was a known early fix provided due to large group of people complaining when they first bought the car.
Your dealer should know that and be able to run a reprogram for you. I doesn't completely fix the jerky shifts, but supposedly helps a bit. I bought mine used and was told it had it done for the previous owner.
Not sure about the brakes and engine noise, sorry.

Yeah sorry, it's a 4 yr warranty, but from the 'birth date' which was back in Dec 2010. Thanks for the info on the window issue, I'll give that a shot.

I'll push them on the transmission reprogram when I bring it in, see what they say...

Cheers

This is brilliant, thanks so much wideopn11. I will bring this in with me when I take the car in. Cheers!

And thanks for the warranty info as well. The car currently has 50000kms on it (31000mi) and is right at the 4 yr mark for the warranty. Infiniti quoted me $3,300 for up to 110,000kms and 84 months. So 3 more years or 60000km (37000mi) whichever comes first. Doesn't seem like a great deal to me.

no it is not. I bought mine for additional 72 months up to 110000 miles for $2,049. You'll pay more since you have passed the $30k miles mark (these are priced every 10k miles), regardless
call Sherry at Circle Infiniti, she will beat it by 35% to 45%

there's also another person that has been giving people good quotes, Courtney at 480 941 0055 ext 2351 in Arizona, but she wasn't very responsive when I was shopping.

the extended plans months are additive, so you would get coverage for additional 84 months (except based on your mileage there's no such plan). The longest coverage you can buy is 72 months (additional 6 years from date of purchase) and/or 82,000 miles (so until end of 2020 - 113,000 miles in your case).

I'm curious.... does anyone know what could be causing the OP's issue with noisier than usual acceleration?
