Hi,
I'm having an issue with my G37x. My warranty expired 2 weeks ago, Infiniti says there's a 3 month/5,000km 'good will' extension but I have to pay a $149 diagnostic fee to find out if I qualify. I am thoroughly unimpressed, this is my first 'luxury car' I never had this issue with any other car or manufacturer. It feels like a cheap cash grab and leaves me with a bad taste. It puts me out $149 at least, and leaves the door open for more if they decide the issue is 'not covered.' What is not covered under a basic warranty? I don't want to shell out $149 only to find out I have to pay more.
Anyways, the problem is the heater blows cool air until I set the thermostat to a crazy high 30 degrees celsius, at which point it blows out 30 degree heat. This is while it's driving and has been warmed up sufficiently. Has anyone else had this problem?

I don't know anyone that works for free.
Think of it this way
You saved $$$$ by not purchasing an extended warranty so $149 is not that much for an expert opinion
If you can't afford to pay a $149 diagnostic fee by a trained Infiniti technician perhaps you should sell your Infiniti and purchase a Honda Civic

That's an extremely ignorant thing to say. I certainly never expected to have any problems with this car, especially 5 minutes after a short 4 year warranty. The warranty was paid for when I bought the car - it was never accessed, good will should always be extended if you stand by your product. The $149 is a cash grab, is offensive and this a matter of principal - which may be a foreign concept to you. :tisk:
I've never had any issues with any of my previous, far less expensive cars, so you're right about one thing, and, only one, I should look into a Honda, as I did own one of them decades ago and it was a dream - it never gave me any problems.
In the meantime I will continue to drive it with the 'do yourself a favour, don't buy an infiniti' sign in my window.

I appreciate ther fact that you are miffed that a "luxury" vehicle warranty would not be honored for such a short time after the expiration. Looking at the other side of the issue would involve determining just how long out of warranty is too long. There are dealers out there who will try and find a way to refuse a warranty claim even when within the mileage and time standards. In your case, I think its very reasonable of them to ask for a (relatively) modest fee of $149. You would be very upset if the dealer refused to honor the warranty at 3 years, 11 months and 20 days. Why then do you expect them to do free service when your warranty is clearly expired? That's like complaining that the car which is rated at 326 hp is not putting out 400 hp. Br grateful that they are giving you some wiggle room.
