I would assume that if your wheels are warped, or out of round, the high speed balancer at the tire shop will be able to confirm it.
As far as cupping, my Michelins (just replaced with Hankook Ventus S1noble2) were cupping near the end of their life. The guy at my tire shop told me that is not unusual for tires to do that and it's not dangerous so long as its mild cupping and it's on the outer edges where the tire is thick. He told me all high performance tires will do that late into their treadlife and it has to be monitored to make sure it's not getting tooo bad, but it doesn't always indicate a wheel or suspension problem and the tires should ride and perform fine until the cupping reaches the point where they need to be replaced.
I'd make sure the wheels are aligned to OEM specs and rotate the tires every 3-5k miles.
Perhaps one of the tech members can shed additional light?
