I've seen this problem on several J30s over the years. Has anyone been able to fix this?
Just above the clock, the dash covering starts to lift up toward the middle. Over the years, it just keeps lifting. I suspect this has something to do with sun exposure. It looks like the clock/vent assembly needs to come out before anything can be done, but I can't even fit a screwdriver in there to pry on it.
This same problem also occurs on the top corners of the passenger airbag.

That looks unique and not to bad. I would use a heat gun on the lowest setting and mush it down while the heat is pointed in the area you want to fix.

Mine is the same. Florida sun ruin this as well the windshield vents. Be really gentle cause the plastic is really fragile due to the sun damage. That's why I don't recommend prying it with a screwdriver. Its hard to explain but I've done it and the only safest way without damaging the dashboard to remove the clock/vents is to remove the wooden bezel. Then remove the AC control and CD player as one unit(the hole bracket). You should have enough room from inside and then with your fingers try to find the clips and push them up and toward the back of the car at the same time. They should pop out easy. I hope that will help. I'll try posting some pics.

If all fails and you do not want to look at your warped/cracked dash, you can purchase a dash cover from the company I work for Dash Designs. www.dashdesigns.com the prices vary for each type of fabric but I think the brushed suede looks the best.

From the website the prices are a little more expensive but if you call Laura at our front desk at 1-800-843-3274 ext. 1127 its about $6.00 cheaper.

Ill talk to the owner and see if i can get the Nico guys a discount so hang in there. if you have any questions or want me to mail you some swatches( ill send those out free) just email me at [email protected] or leave me a voice mail at ext. 1160.

the fit is custom for each car and actually fits well for the j30.

If any of you guys want to check it out just drop me a line/email
