I have had an Oil Filter maintainance warning on my DVD navigation screen for quite a while now. Is there a way to reset that by myself or do I have to go to a dealer?

Is there anything wrong with your oil filter? Have you recently had it checked? It's possible the light's coming on for a good reason.

Depends on what the message is, I guess.

On my 2003 M45, which has the same system, a message comes on at 3750 miles (what I set it to do on another screen) to replace my oil and filter. If this is the same message as what you are seeing, then this is something you can reset.

Of course, if the message is different, then take it in to be looked at immediately! If it is related to oil pressure, or a broken filter or something, you may be damaging your engine ...

It just says. Maintainance....Oil Filter. Its been changed twice since it started coming up so I don't know what the problem is.
