A NEW COMPANY CALLED " NEWLIVEMARKET" is selling copies of the McKinney RB mounts as well as copies of other companies mounts. There are COPIES and not the real thing.. They look to be China copies so beware... Completion is good , but, coping some Else's hard work is not cool......

a motor mount is a basic piece, its look dependent on its function. id be hard to make it look different.

Y'know, this isn't the first time someone's tried to hawk their products on my forum without authorization.

I put that in the same category as copying someone else's design.

You want advertising?

Go pay for it.

No offense but the mounts arn't some engineering marvel.

We have had issues with the poly mounts from McKinney separating (2 sets). We modded the mounts and drilled the urethane all the way through, ran a long grade 8 bolt through the mount and urethane. Then put washers and nylon lock nuts on it. No issues since.

But anyway try lowering your price. Its called competition. 525 bucks really? I guess from making my own mounts I dont appreciate the ease of buying mounts pre made but damn.

Also do all S14 cross members require modification for the mounts still or is that fixed also? I know the original kit was made for S13s

I understand.

But this isn't a venue to whine about companies "copying" something as simplistic as a mount design, either.

Hope your LS mount doesn't look like anyone else's...

hmmm, got ripped when I said this 5-6 months ago. Younger guys might wan't to pay that kind of money if you throw in a sticker they can plaster on car. prefab mounts are a convenience to most with tools and ability to do swap themselves. And if his price is half thats a little more convienant.

Mckinney understands this is not a place to whine about anything and to help everyone with the RB motor. but what if there is a problem with the weld or material and blame Mckinney for them. I think all he is doing is telling everyone that they are not their mounts.

Yes, it is not cool to copy someones product no matter what it is. What would happen if someone copied this website down to the letter and only changed the background color? Plus the charged the sponsors only half what you charge them. Would you be happy? I bet you would be upset.

Also, other companies making mounts are good because it allows people to pick what they want based on price and design. Yes, they have the designed patented and all the legal stuff to go with it. So they will be going after them and they have contacted their friends in China to see where they are coming from.

I hope this clears some stuff up. I know they dont want to cause any problems here and I know they never would do anything to Upset anyone on NICO. They are always on here helping people and help anyone that calls on the phone. It is what they do, they love cars and try their best to help others.
