I have a 1994 Q45 and I get a "Stop Lamp Inoperative" on my LED of my dash board. What does this mean and how can I quickly diagnose the problem?

Thanks,

One of your brake light bulbs is bad (don't forget the center mounted ones) or if it hasn't gone bad yet, it's on it;s way.

Thats right. Get somebody to put a foot on the brake pedal while you look at it from behind.

And only use OEM or Sylvania LL bulbs.

Check sockets and their connections.

I was able to identify the problem. The middle brake lights are not working. Where can I buy replacement bulbs and are where can I find instructions on how to open this middle/center brake lights to change the bulb?

Also, one of my yellow lamps needs replacement which are turned on when the head lights are on. I have an image, but do not know how to attach them to this post. This light is located on the front side bumper next to the wheel. It looks like a elongated oval yellow light on my 1994 Q45. Again, where can I buy a replacement bulb and where can I get instructions on how to replace them?

Thanks,

Assuming it's not a "t" model, the brake light housing on the rear deck is removed by pushing it to one side or the other. Should be self explanatory from that point.

My experience is that when one sits in the rear passenger seat, reaches across one's chest with the right arm and grabs the CHMBL fisture, a 1/4 turn clockwise will free it.

No pushing involved.

I bought the Sylvania replacement bulbs for the center mounted rear brake lights from AutoZone. I was able to remove the center brake light housing by gently pulling on the left side. Thanks for the person who gave me that tip. I may have to replace the internal parts since the plastic that holds the bulbs is cracking. The new bulbs were installed and now all is working.

How about the elongated yellow lamp located on the side front bumper in front of the wheels. These lights turn on when the head lights are on and do not blink with the turn signal. AutoZone does not carray those lights. Does anyone know how to remove the cover and access the broken bulb?

Thanks,

Do not install Autozone bulbs unless they are Sylvania LL!
