Just a little info. for those buying your SR motor from Jazz Pro Parts.

You may be getting a motor from Osaka JDM Motors of Canada. Mine unfortunately is coming from that very place. I haven't received it yet, but I will let you guys know what condition it is in as soon as it arrives.

Most of you know that I have been having a troublesome time dealing with this company for the past few weeks. I have to say that they have at least been courteous on the phone.

Anyway. I have read some less than positive reviews of motors and customer service regarding Osaka. My best friend ordered a JDM GTO/3000GT motor set from them. He received it with a hole in the trans. He said he could actually see the internals it was so large. When he contacted them they basically blew him off. So naturally I wanted to steer clear of them.

I ordered my motor from Jazz Pro which is located in Dallas TX. When I tracked my shipment the ship from address was for Canada. I looked up the address and sure enough it was for Osaka.

I called Jazz Pro and asked to speak to the owner. After stating my case, I found out that he is either the brother to or cousin to the owner of Osaka.

His defense was that he has better or higher quality control standards than that of his relative. (We'll see). When asked why would I pay 500-700 more dollars to go through his company rather than straight through Osaka, he said that the price difference covers shipping and border tax. That is BS because there is no border tax on items coming into the US "to my knowledge". and they're website says "free shipping on $100 or more purchase.

BUYER BEWARE

If you are trying to avoid Osaka avoid Jazz Pro Parts and vice versa.

i have heard bad things about osaka and jazz pro. however, i ordered my engine from osaka and they were extreemly helpful. there were a few issues with my order, wrong ecu, cut harness, but they quickly sent me the correct one and a brand new harness.

my engine even had an eftermarket 1.5mm head gasket.

Sad to hear this. I forgot to mention that when I ordered my motor from Jazz, it came from Osaka. So did my brother's. I luckily didn't have the same troubles you have had. When I talked to them the first time they said that they had shops in four different locations. I was worried to say the least. After the Total JDM problem which is the same as JDM Source (they say they're not), it has really became hard to find good engines sources other then HeavyThrottle, Enjuku and other shops.
